I searched high and low for curtains for my master bedroom. The windows were really high and I wanted to hang them even higher so length was my first problem. I finally found curtains at IKEA that were 118" long (I hemmed them to my length). So while on my hunt I ran across another project on
Pinterest - DIY PAINTED CURTAINS. Here's the final result and a few photos along the way.

Master Bedroom BEFORE - windows need some fabric |
|
I purchased IKEA curtains for $20 (for two panels)
and ironed them. Then I put plastic under them to
protect the floor from any paint that would bleed under
the panels. Then I taped off the panels. This will vary depending
on your curtain length and desired number of strips and width of stripes. |
|
Taping off completed and in the process of painting the stripes.
I used left over regular flat wall paint and a small sponge roller.
I needed two coats. |
|
I waited for the paint to dry before removing the
tape because I didn't want to risk getting paint on
the white stripes. They were a little stiff but I was
able to manipulate them before hanging.
I LOVE THEM! |
