Paper Canvas Art....... amazing texture!!!!

I found an amazing piece of canvas art that I loved....
but wasn't prepared to fork out $400+ on it.
So for less than $30 I came up with my version........
I love it so much that I'm wanting to do a much
larger version for our master bedroom.....
My version .....  I think I'll keep adding paint
and maybe even a little glitter....  love the texture
and dimension that this has.  The picture doesn't
do it justice.

Close up view of my version

Supplies:  canvas, glue gun with sticks, letter size white
paper torn into pieces (tore the edges for more texture)

In process of gluing paper to the canvas.
I found it easier to put a pencil (eraser side down)
in the middle of a scrap of paper and wrap the
paper around the pencil.  Then place a dot of glue
on the paper and place randomly on the canvas.
There's not a way to mess this up.  Place the
paper as close or far apart as you like to get the
look you desire.  This could also be done with
crepe paper, tissue paper, etc.

Still - in progress.  This process took about an hour.

Painting supplies:  various spray paints and wall
texture spray.  Use any color you'd like.

This was the first round of color.
Using both light and dark gray paints.

After spraying with wall/ceiling popcorn texture.

My inspiration......
